Museums & Galleries

I love museums and galleries. From the big, world-class variety to the small but personal local history museums of New Zealand, I can lose myself for hours of edutainment.

Personally, discovering as much as possible about the history and culture of a destination before I travel there is something I do before any journey. When traveling, visiting museums and galleries in New Zealand allows me to discover more about the people of and place I’m visiting and leaves a lasting impression. The museums and galleries in Godzone are those that I’ve visited or that I’ve found in places like the NZMuseums website.

From the big with diverse collections, to local history, to the quirky collection by some local eccentric collector.

New Zealand Galleries

Mostly those with permanent displays of culturally significant works along with temporary exhibitions.

The map is the easiest way to find museums and galleries by tapping icons.
