Carrick Wines are located at the southern end of a broad glacial river valley surrounded by mountains. Situated on windblown loess soils with deep fractured schist layers, the vineyards have low natural fertility. Minimal intervention and organic farming results in wines of character and structure.
Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc.
Carrick is certified organic by BioGro New Zealand, and implement organic farming practices during the production of their grapes and wines.
One To Try
Josephine Riesling - Although the Pinot Noir is a regional classic, I'm opting for the Riesling. Hand harvested, and picked early to preserve floral aromatics and citrus acidity, all grapes come from a certified organic block. I'm curious about the typical Central Otago minerality that offsets the sweetness.
