Auckland Museum is regarded as one of the finest museums in the Southern Hemisphere and is renowned for its unique collection of over 2000 priceless Māori artefacts and Pacific treasures. It is a war memorial and tells the story of New Zealand at war. Māori cultural performances are given each day.

Opening Times

Open Daily 10am-5pm (Closed Christmas Day). Māori Culture Performance (30mins) 11:00, 12:00, 13:30, 14:30. Guided Tours (60mins, charges apply)leave the Front Foyer daily at 10.45, 12:45 and 14:15.

Admission Charges

No donation is requested from visitors from the Auckland region but proof of Auckland residency is required. A donation of $10 per adult is suggested for all non-Auckland New Zealand residents. Admission for international visitors start at $25 per adult and $10 per child, families $60. Charges may apply for special exhibitions and programmes, see website for more information.
